Rescue
Our firefighters, medical technicians and officers are well-versed in rescue practices. Supported by our heavy rescue apparatus, our team provides extrication from dangerous situations, often using advanced equipment. When responding to the call of a fire, rescue personnel perform lifesaving search and rescue operations.

As a fully-accredited NYS EMS Agency, our certified and credentialed team of pre-hospital providers (EMTs, Paramedics) render aid, providing lifesaving treatments at no-cost to our patients. Our use of continually updated, evidence-based protocols and online medical direction allows for the consistent delivery of quality care.

Firefighters
A brave team of highly-trained firefighters dedicate their time, energy and effort to making a positive difference in the lives of others during a critical period of need. Our firefighters undergo many hours of training at no cost to them and update their skills regularly through professional development initiatives to ensure competence.
A team of certified and rigorously credentialed prehospital emergency medical providers answer calls for medical assistance at any time, day or night. Operating under the direction of our medical director, these individuals are uniquely qualified to provide lifesaving treatments for a variety of medical and traumatic ailments. Currently, Roslyn Rescue operates two ALS-equipped ambulances.

Fire Prevention & Safety
Community Education
We regularly engage our community, partnering with local organizations and institutions to promote emergency education and fire safety. We regularly visit local schools, educating students on the importance of fire prevention and safety— creating and interactive and immersive experience designed for maximum learning. Historically, we’ve also partnered with local fire departments to demonstrate the perils of driving under the influence, by conducting realistic simulations of vehicle extrications. If you are interested in partnering to help educate our community, please let us know.
Fire Prevention
Together, we can take small, deliberate steps to prevent fires in our community and reduce the instance of injury and property damage. Whether you’re a homeowner, lessee, or business owner, we recommend taking just a few minutes every month to consider fire prevention and your personal safety. Make sure to have an adequate number of functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors home, business or office, regularly testing them and ensuring its batteries are fully-charged. We also recommend creating and reviewing an emergency escape plan, updating it regularly as necessary. To learn more about the necessary fire prevention steps you should take, consult FEMA and the Red Cross.

Start your journey with Roslyn Rescue by completing an application. Please note, as mandated by our bylaws and is common practice within the volunteer fire service, you must be at least 18 years old (17 years old with documented parental consent) to apply for membership. Once you have submitted your application, a member of our recruitment team will be in touch soon to review the next steps.
As an all-volunteer department, Roslyn Rescue depends on members of our community. While volunteering is hard work, it is incredibly rewarding and offers many benefits— both personal and professional.
